2. Developer Experience

Developer experience at Intel had multiple programs. 

  • 5 Star Committee
    • Governance body to define process and tools for developer experience. I owned UX criteria star and helped all other segments for design and development

  • Unified UX initiatives
    • Conducted user research, surveys and segmentation. Defined future of Intel digital workplace of future.

  • Developer tools and portals
    • These tools and UX pattern library with sample ui codes helped developers to cut time to deploy. .

5 Star developer program

Program objective:

The 5 Star Apps Program intends to accelerate the delivery of secure, modern, multi-platform applications by providing Intel developers best practices, open source tools, and expert resources.

Value proposition/Priority:

  • Transform application delivery to reflect the new, modern business needs and models.

  • Meet application security requirements and align to customer use-cases.

Focus:

  • Removing obstacles and providing across-the-board tools to increase productivity and efficiency

  • Updated Application Development Lifecycle. Improve the testing of solutions across multiple devices.

  • The IT Developer Zone (ITDZ).  Connect teams with experts and content. ITDZ is a working prototype of a multi-platform reference design with code samples, reusable libraries and how-to documentation.

Security:

  • Application is registered in IAP, security assessment performed with no audit issues identified

  • For internally-developed applications, code will need to be scanned to detect any security vulnerabilities

  • For OEM / externally-developed applications, a Security Risk Manager will perform a risk assessment of the environment

User Experience:

  • Application is designed for the end user and accommodates evolving user and business requirements, including global performance

  • IT Usability Survey (ITUS) is a score of 70 (B grade) or better and is improving as per the application’s ITUS grade

  • Application meets or exceeds global performance criteria

  • Application ensures information is most accurate and current

  • Application provides an end-user feedback mechanism

Deliverables:

  • Worked with all teams to build their portal and monitoring tools.

  • Led building UX guidelines and patterns initiatives to help developers build consistent, well tested, and secure user flows​

  • Worked with research team to understand intel user segments and their pain points. 

  • Author documents on detail UI patterns with industry best examples.  

  • Published asset library and UI components with CSS code so that developers can use drag and drop to build apps

  • Designed app store and marketplace

  • Presented updates of design system to Intel Application tracking committee.
